Augie Pando

Augie retired in 2012 as a sergeant for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office. He started his law enforcement career with the Los Angeles Police Department, where he worked as a civilian station officer for two years prior to his transfer to LASO. Augie honorably served the residents of Los Angeles County and Southern California for 38 years.

Within his career, Augie worked multiple assignments both as a deputy and as a sergeant. He was a patrol officer, field training officer, and supervisor on patrol. He worked as the shift watch commander, while assigned to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Agency, supervising personnel in five counties. He worked as a detective and detective training officer for 20 years. Given his experience, he was also assigned as a detective bureau supervisor. In addition, he worked as a Special Problems Unit Supervisor, assigned to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. He worked in business crime prevention, worked undercover with the ATF, and authored over 100 search warrants involving property crimes, assaults, domestic violence, attempted murder, and firearms violations. Augie is an LASO department certified firearms instructor and ran the LASO mobile range for approximately six years.

Augie brings a great deal of experience to the table. He has been involved in countless critical incidents and high profile cases, and he was assigned with the incident management team for Los Angeles County. In addition, Augie received the International Chiefs of Police Award for Excellence in Criminal Investigations. He was also awarded the Lakewood Award of Valor, the Exemplary Service Award, and the Distinguished Service Award.
