Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

This section is provided to answer some of the common questions regarding E1 Tactical Solutions and the services that we provide. Please feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions or if there is anything else that we can help with.

What does E1 stand for?

Which class is right for us?

I live in a Constitutional Carry State and thought that just carrying a gun to was good enough. What else should I consider?

Besides active shooters, what other safety concerns should we consider?

Why do you offer defensive chemical agent training if it is not required by law?

A1. The name E1 or Entry - 1, refers to the lead entry person on a SWAT Team. While some teams have different terminology, E1 is a term that we used and are familiar with. E1 is the most dangerous position as this officer is first through the door. We want to give you the knowledge and training to be prepared to respond first regardless of the situation.

Back to Questions

A2. The answer to the question which class is right for us, really depends on your individual situation. While many churches utilize Constitutional Carry or congregants with CCW permits, other more restrictive jurisdictions may not. Similarly, many businesses and schools may not utilize armed security or safety teams. With that said, every institution could benefit from our Situational Awareness Training. As this training is designed for everyone regardless if you are armed or not. We do highly recommend that any church or other facility utilizing armed individuals attend our Safety Trainings 1 and 2.

Back to Questions

A3. There are many things to consider when it comes to being armed. At the top of the list is safety. You have to always properly identify the threat and what's beyond it. What if the threat is standing next to an interior wall (sheet rock) with a Sunday School Class in the adjoining room? Have you trained in an active environment for how to properly address a moving threat under stress? Do you regularly practice marksmanship? Do you know who else may be armed and what their capabilities are? Have you properly assessed the situation to determine if lethal force is lawful and necessary? Are you mentally prepared to make a split second decision? Do you have insurance and/or an attorney? Do you know your rights and what could happen if you fire a weapon? Are there protocols in place to provide first aid to the injured (including the suspect). Many things need to be considered in critical incidents, and we are here to help you and your team confidently answer these questions.

Back to Questions

A4. Attacks against churches, schools, and businesses within the US often include theft, vandalism, arson, bombings, bomb threats, and incidents involving firearms as well as other weapons. Additionally, internal threats which are often not thought of include internal theft, sexual assaults, domestic violence incidents, and parental abductions. We are here to help you find solutions to prevent many of these issues and help you to respond properly if incidents do occur.

Back to Questions

A5. We offer defensive chemical agent training (CS and OC) as most incidents do not elevate to the level requiring deadly force but may require a defensive alternative. Also, many churches, schools, and businesses elect not to have armed security / safety teams. Participating in a certified chemical agent training allows for hands on practice and knowledge that those who have attended the training have successfully passed a course outlining considerations of when and how to properly deploy a chemical agent.
