John Vance
John retired in 2023 as a Texas Ranger for the Texas Department of Public Safety. After retirement he took on the position of a Special Ranger for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. In total John has served the public for 33 years. John has been recognized at law enforcement training conferences across the US for his expertise in hostage negotiations and criminal investigations.
Within his career, John has held the lead criminal investigative responsibility for major incident crime investigations, unsolved serial crime investigations, public corruption investigations, officer-involved shooting investigations, and border security operations. He has also assisted with the protection of the Texas Governor and First Lady, Lieutenant Governor, and the Texas Attorney General.
John brings a wealth of knowledge and has investigated active shooter incidents including the Robb Elementary School Shooting in Uvalde, Texas, which occurred in 2022
