Brian Freeman
Brian retired in 2018 as a sergeant for the Lodi Police Department in California. Brian worked for Lodi PD for 21 years. Prior to his employment with the City of Lodi, he was a deputy sheriff for two years with the Yuba County Sheriff's Office in Northern California. Brian co-founded 836 Technologies Corporation in 2006. Today, he continues to manage the company in producing state of the art hostage negotiations equipment. Within his tenure at 836, he has had the ability to travel across the US and to several other countries providing training to countless hostage negotiators and tactical teams.

Within his law enforcement career, Brian was a SWAT operator, sniper, sniper team leader, and entry team leader where he actively participated in field deployments as well as conducted countless site surveys and SWAT operational plans. In addition, Brian is a certified firearms instructor and tactical rifle instructor from the California Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). He is a Subject Matter Expert for California and Arizona P.O.S.T., where he has written and produced training videos on topics such as Surviving Deadly Assaults, Special Response to Crimes in Progress, and Preliminary Investigations. Brian was also awarded the Medal of Valor due to his actions involving an armed confrontation during a hostage situation.

Brian has been instructing students, adult learners, and officers for more than 30 years. His investigative, tactical, and firearms experience shine a light on his unique qualifications and accomplishments. ​
